Today marked the day the final rounds of CCR's 1st Battle Tournament started on the RF servers. You read the headline! Read on to find out how it all went down! Videos included!

If you haven't been keeping up, here is a short recall of prior matches.

Saturday June 27th was the day both Shadow Legion teams had to fight their way through to the next stage of the tournament.

The following weekend on July 4th, both Shadow Legion teams again emerged victorious.
The Shadow Legion team 2, named The Covenant, merced POWERTHIRST badly.
The 1st Shadow Legion team smoked Bastion NO.1 in the first round, which led to a demoralized team sitting down for the second round, forfeiting the match.

This weekend, July 11-12th saw the start of the final rounds. All round of the final would be concluded this weekend.

First up was The Shadow Legion team 2, The Covenant, vs Christmas, which was Ninja's alt team. Christmas proved to be little challenge, moving the Covenant one step closer to the finals.

The very next match up pit The 1st Shadow Legion team against a very highly hyped Cora team named Team Awesome. This team had one of the most challenging setups ShadowLegion would face, 1 templar, 1 warlock, 3 grazier, and 3 specs. However in the end, the team work and tactics Team Awesome utilized would be no match for the ShadowLegion team, who steamrolled on to the next round.

The next round ended up pitting both Shadow Legion teams against one another. It was a shame both teams could not advance to the finals, but as it was once said by a very wise individual:

"At the end of this day, one shall stand, one shall fall."

This match would bring the biggest threat both teams have seen yet, Hermes ended up taking most of the beating, but in the end, it would be the first Shadow Legion team that would move on to the final round against Ninja Turtles. Shadow Legion team 2, named The Covenant would walk away with a 3rd place victory.

During this final round, Ninja's team was very heavily melee based, however, Ninja did have a trapper on the team. As many who play RF know, trappers using the highest level traps can be very dangerous due to the sheer amount of damage traps do to a player upon exploding. With this in mind, and armed with the advantage that Ninja was primarily melee based, Shadow Legion decided to take a very defensive position, forcing Ninja to be the ones to engage, and avoiding stepping on traps unnecessarily. The first round, Ninja took the bait and just could not penetrate the Shadow Legion defensive perimeter with any luck. After multiple charges, Shadow Legion was able to simply whittle away each member of the Ninja team until the round was over.

The second round, Ninja was a bit wiser to the tactic, and attempted to push Shadow Legion further into a corner and try quick strikes supported by towers and traps. This tactic did put more pressure on the Shadow Legion team, and for a while, stalemated the match. However, Ninja once again engaged the Shadow Legion team in an attempt at a quick strike and came up short, losing a player. This repeated numerous times until once again, Shadow Legion was able to whittle down the opposition.

Game, Set, Match.

Shadow Legion would walk away with the 1st place victory, and some very nice prizes.
